Ashley has had a love for horses for as long as she can remember! When she was 13, she started out as a volunteer at Camp Red Cedar in Fort Wayne, IN. She volunteered for about 5 years, assisting instructors and clients during therapeutic riding lessons. She was then hired on as a summer barn hand by maintaining the barn and working with horses new to the programs.
After 4 years of working as a barn hand and her Freshman year at Indiana University-Purdue University of Fort Wayne, she transferred to Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College where she graduated in May 2016 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. Ashley majored in Equine Business Management along with minors in Equine Science and Equine Assisted Therapy.
While at SMWC, Ashley worked as a barn hand on campus for 3 years. She has volunteered at the Hoosier Horse Fair through SMWC in 2015 and 2016. In 2017, she participated in the Indiana Horse Council Queen Contest, held at the Hoosier Horse Fair, which she was awarded as the 2nd Runner-Up. The following year she ran again and became the IHC Queen of 2018.
